Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Brain and Skull Base Fellowship - Department of Neurological Surgery

The Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery Program at Weill Cornell Medical Center is introducing a Research Fellowship in Endoscopic Brain and Skull Base Surgery. This position was borne out of the observation that many neurosurgeons in training are seeking in depth exposure to minimally invasive techniques. Participating individuals will observe cases in the operating room and be involved in research projects including clinical reports and cadaveric dissection in the Department of Neurological Surgery Skull Base laboratory.

The major objective is to advance the field, improve safety, and further define the surgical indications of intraventricular and skull base endoscopic neurosurgery. Investigative efforts will be distributed through published peer-reviewed works for the benefit of neurosurgeons world-wide. This unprecedented opportunity will no doubt help to further the field of minimally invasive and endoscopic neurosurgery on both a national and international front.

Participants are expected to spend a minimum of three months and will receive a stipend that is dependent upon their level of training. The research fellowship is under the direction of Drs. Theodore Schwartz and Mark Souweidane in the Department of Neurosurgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.
