The Department of Neurological Surgery is committed to a comprehensive approach to the treatment of cerebrovascular disease. Philip Stieg, PhD, MD, is the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and Neurosurgeon-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. His areas of expertise include cerebral aneurysm, microvascular surgery, meningioma, stroke, AVM (arteriovenous malformation), vascular malformation, cerebral vascular disease, hemifacial spasm, and brain tumor. Y. Pierre Gobin, MD is an internationally recognized expert in the field of interventional neuroradiology, with 20 years of experience in the treatment of vascular diseases of the brain, head and neck, and spine. A pioneer in endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms, Dr. Gobin has also developed and established minimally invasive surgical approaches to treat acute strokes. More about Dr. Gobin.

Athos Patsalides, M.D., is an Interventional Neuroradiologist who is board certified in Radiology. Dr. Patsalides' expertise is in the endovascular treatment of diseases of the brain and spine.
