Dr. Susan Pannullo, Director of The New York Brain Tumor Center in the Department of Neurosurgery, will be honored with the Gary Lichtenstein Humanitarian Award by Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC). VABC's mission is to find a cure for brain cancer by advancing research, increasing awareness, and establishing support for patients and families. This year's proceeds will, in part, fund Dr. Pannullo's research on the treatment of malignant gliomas with chemotherapy coils. Her project is focused on creating a novel local drug delivery technique that will improve survival for patients with malignant gliomas. Dr. Pannullo will receive the award on June 12, 2008 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
